2. Mining
The mining is made in open pit, in vertical 8-m benches.
Considering the physical characteristics of the material, the excavation and loading are made with the use of retro-excavators and loaders and the transportation of the ore and waste is made by 35 tons capacity trucks. The services fleet is composed by D6 tractors and tank trucks..

3. Processing Plant
The ROM ore, duly homogenized, goes through the processes of primary crushing, crumbling and washing in a scrubber, screening in a vibratory screen deck, re-crushing and new size classification in spiral classifiers, after which washing and draining of the fine fractions take |
place. At the end of the processing, the concentrate is stocked in two homogeneous piles in the ore yard: one of lump ore (from 76,2mm to 6,35 mm) and another one of fine ore (sinter feed from 6,35mm to 0,074 mm).
The industrial plant enables the processing of 2 million tons of ROM per year, generating 825,000 tons of lump ore and 657,000 tons of sinter feed.
