Mineração Buritirama offers a vast range of alternatives for commercialization of its products, with flexibility, reliability, and availability.

The significant volume of high grade reserves and its independence from big national and foreign groups enables Buritirama to have its own commercialization strategy in the internal and international markets.

Buritirama’s ore body were discovered in 1966 by the Cia Meridional de Mineração team, a US Steel company. The initial geological research operation has been executed throughout many years, being more intense from 1968 to 69. Its total reserves were estimated at 18.4 mt of high grade Manganese ore.

Buritirama’s Manganese ore can be classified as metallurgical, being 45% Mn grade, low Phosphorus (P) grade, and relation Fe/Mn = 15.

Implementation of the project started in 1992 and finished in January, 1994 with the conclusion of the access road, plowing and processing plant, as well as the operational staff lodging.
